Haiti Outreach Ministry and St. Frances Cabrini Parish Twinning Relationship

Since 1989, St. Frances Cabrini Parish in West Bend has had a twinning relationship with Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Reflecting Back From Where We Have Come

In 1995, Cabrini made its second trip to the central plateau in Haiti. My husband and I helped plant a cross in a small village of Latoune, using our bare hands to scoop out the dirt. This was Errol’s first and last trip as he went to be with the Lord on Oct.1,1995. It was also the day before I broke my ankle. Four other Cabrini parishioners joined us that year and had to do many things they never dreamed they would have to do.

“Those who make the decision to Journey to Haiti must accept the fact that they will return home forever changed. It is a worthwhile change, but it demands courage. They will find truth in the saying that Haiti wraps her arms around you and never lets you go.”
