Ministries of La Sagrada Familia

  • Faith Formation

    La Sagrada Familia supports the spiritual needs of the community by celebrating the sacraments, providing catechesis programs, biblical and liturgical workshops, and Christian formation.

  • After School Program

    The After School Program allows children to engage with their peers and continue to develop, as their parents work to provide for their family.

  • Health Center

    The health center serves the basic healthcare needs of the community by offering general medicine, dentistry, gynecology services, a clinical analysis laboratory, and a pharmacy with low-cost medications.

  • Pastoral & Social Ministry (Haitian Community)

    The parish works with over 5,000 Haitian immigrants in the Azua region by supporting the material and spiritual needs of the community.

  • Physical Therapy Center

    The rehabilitation program runs from Monday to Friday and allows community members to seek the care they need to alleviate pain and increase mobility.

  • Prison Ministry

    This ministry provides spiritual and pastoral care for those who are incarcerated.

  • New Homes/House Repairs

    New homes and house repairs provide a firm foundation for a family to flourish. Oftentimes, families may live with members of multiple generations, so having a suitable home sets all family members up for success.

  • Nutritional Centers

    La Sagrada Familia Parish runs three nutritional centers for 180 children from 2-5 years old. At the centers, children are fed nutritious meals, taught educational lessons, have access to medical visits, enjoy the company of their peers, and much more!

  • Women's Training Centers

    Women have the opportunity to join sewing and/or cosmetology classes. The women feel empowered from cultivating these new and desired skills.

  • Water Projects

    Water projects help the community in terms of agriculture and drinking water. The water projects can vary based on the needs of the specific community.

  • Recycling Program

    The Recycling Program is a well-established project that betters the community. In addition to educating the community on the importance of recycling, plastic bins are provided throughout the community to further promote this initiative. Currently, over 700 families recycle!

  • Senior Ministry/Food Pantry

    The Senior Ministry provides medical attention and food assistance to the vulnerable, lonely, and elderly. It also serves as an opportunity for members to gather together over shared meals.

  • Scholarship Program

    The Scholarship Program supports the youth of the community by providing the opportunity for education. Oftentimes, a scholarship recipient will complete their studies and return to serve their home community.

  • Altos de Caobita Retreat House/Eco-Lodge

    The Retreat House/Eco-Lodge, Altos de la Caobita, fosters regional development by promoting tourism and creating job opportunities for local community members.
